Dear Friends,
As part of an ongoing effort to prepare the Florida
Senate's policy agenda for the next term, I'm inviting you to participate
in a series of policy forums that will be conducted throughout the
state.
Each '21st Century Summit' will bring in various experts
and vested parties from all over Florida in order to discuss the
state's most pressing issues.
Our first policy summit entitled Environmental Conservation:
Keys to a Sustainable Future is dedicating an entire day to exploring
the vital role our natural resources play in the pursuit of Florida's
health and economic well-being.
The event is sponsored by the Florida Recreation and
Park Association Foundation (FRPA) and is being held in Orlando
on June 16th, 2006. For more information or a registration brochure,
please contact Eleanor with FRPA at (850) 878-3221. The information
can also be obtained by visiting FRPA's website, http://web.frpa.org/pdfs/advocacy/EnvironmentalConservationSummit.pdf.
Our second 21st Century Summit, Career Pathways: Rebirth of Career/Technical
Education in Florida, is being held on June 30th, 2006. The objective
of this statewide summit is to explore career and technical education
and how we can enhance this vital component of Florida's education
system. For more information or to register for this event, please
visit http://www.ircc.edu/summit/
or contact Bryan Beaty at (772) 462-4804.
Over the next two years, these collaborative policy
summits will be instrumental in finding solutions to the many challenges
of the 21st Century. Please join with us at these exciting events
as we work toward a brighter future for Florida.
Sincerely,

Ken Pruitt
State Senator
